Ronald Koeman has admitted his team will face a lot of problems this season after losing the greatest player in Barcelona history.
With Lionel Messi gone, Barcelona no longer have player capable of creating 250 chances along with scoring 30 goals with 25 assists. In fact, Messi departure means Barcelona have completely lost the fear factor.
The Argentinean was a force of nature and stopping him was almost impossible especially when he was partnered Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta.
Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilboa have forced to Ronald Koeman to admit once more when asked about the impact of Messi absence.
“I don’t like to always talk about the same thing, but we’re e talking about the best in the world. Our opponents had more fear when Messi was here,’ he said”, Koeman told the press.
“For us as well, if you pass the ball to Leo, usually he won’t lose it. You can tell [Messi] isn’t there. We know that and we can’t change it”.
Koeman will be aiming to finish in the top 4 while going as far possible in the Champions League.
