PSG sporting director Leonardo has confirmed Real Madrid’s interest in signing Kylian Mbappe and the player’s desire to move to the Santiango Bernebue.
But a deal will not go through if Real Madrid stop playing games and submit a serious offer for the player. Los Blancos opening bid of €134m is far too little for a player like Mbappe whose current market is €180m even though he has just a year to run on his existing contract.
Leonardo and other PSG chiefs feels Real Madrid don’t really want to sign Mbappe for hundreds of millions but instead want to give him the impression they tried to sign him but were knocked by PSG.
So when he becomes a free agent next season, he should consider them ahead of other top European club’s who will definitely come for him.
“In terms of our position on Real, it seems like a strategy to try to get a no from us, to show that they have tried everything and to wait for a year to get him for free. For the last 2 years, Real Madrid have been behaving like this, it is not correct, illegal even because they contacted the player. It is unacceptable for us, because it is not correct.
“It is proof of the strategy: an offer comes 1 year before the end of his contract and 7 days before the end of the window. They want us to reject to show to Kylian that they tried everything and to start negotiating for next year.”
Mbappe will stay at PSG this season and help the club win lots of trophies including the Champions League.
