RB Leipzig has reportedly reached an agreement to sign Barcelona star llaix Moriba. The 18-year-old will join Leipzig in a €16m deal that could rise to €22m if wins a trophy with the club.
The teenager has been granted permission to travel to Germany and have a medical before putting pen to paper in a four year deal, with an option to extend it for another year.
IIaix departure is a huge blow to Barcelona who were planning to build a world class team with home grown players. But, the player wanted more money to stay which Barcelona refused to offer.
Moriba felt the €1m-a-year contract been offered to him is too small and therefore requested for an improvement which was rejected.
The rejection might Moriba had to reconsider his future with the club. With no compromise reached between him and the club, Moriba asked to leave which was granted.
Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and even Real Madrid all wanted him but non of them submitted a bid.
RB Leipzig on the other hand saw a super talented player who will cost €70m or more in the next two or three years and quickly snapped him up.
