Atletico Madrid have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Antoine Griezmann on loan with a mandatory purchase option of €40m.
Antoine will end his two year nightmare at Barcelona and return to the Wanda Metropolitano were he played arguably his best football.
Although, the loan deal won’t involve any player’s swap neither will it involve a shared payment package with Barcelona. Griezmann will leave on a season loan deal and next season, Barcelona will be paid €40m, €80m less than what they paid for him in 2019.
Griezmann’s departure is massive news to Barcelona who were desperate to get rid off him and save $40m in wages. With him gone, the club will now focus on getting rid off Samuel Umtiti and Miralem Pjanci who are both deemed surplus to requirement along with Griezmann.
