Clashes between Liverpool and AC Milan are always memorable and sometimes heart wrenching. But despite the past and present clashes, Liverpool ex-players have favoured going to San Siro to continue their football.
Some of the players are club legends who will never be forgotten after all they achieved at the club while others had to leave after becoming surplus to requirement.
Fernando Torres- El Nino played for Liverpool from 2007 to 2011 before getting tired of the club’s trophy less run. He decided to join Chelsea were he won the Champions League and the Europa League making him one of the five players in history to have won the World Cup, the European Championship, the Champions League and the Europa League.
Pepe Reina- The Liverpool legend is arguably one of the greatest goalkeeper’s in the club’s history. Reina managed 315 appearance and won 3 trophies for the club. He left Liverpool in 2011 to join AC Milan were he won the Seria A title and the Copa Itallia.
Fabio Borini- The former Italy international played 74 games for Liverpool from 2010-2012 before he left the club to join Sunderland. Borini later joined AC Milan after Sunderland were relegated from the Premier League.
Mario Balotelli- The Italian maverick played for Liverpool in the 2014-15 season and managed just one goal all season. Balotelli left Liverpool after a disappointing season and joined AC Milan.
Alberto Aquillani- The former Italian international joined Liverpool in the 2012 and managed just 34 games in just two seasons due to injuries. He was later loaned to Juventus and then AC Milan who decided to buy him out rightly.
Suso- Liverpool fans might not know much about him due to seldom game time at Anfield and numerous loan but the diminutive attacker did play a stellar part in rejuvenate the current AC Milan before moving to Seviall were he won the 2017 Europa League trophy.
