Belgium manager Roberto Martinez has distanced himself from Barcelona’s managerial vacancy despite the endless stories of Ronald Koeman’s imminent sacking.
Martinez understands the media and how football works. He knows Keoman’s sack call will be forgotten if Barcelona can win games against Cadiz, Levante and Benfica in the Champions League as well as intensifies if he losses.
But for now, he wants everyone to relax and let Koeman do this job of getting Barcelona playing without their talisman-Lionel Messi.
“Well as you can imagine there is nothing, nothing to comment for me”, Martinez told Eurosport.
“When you lose three games the rumours are that you are going to lose your job. When things are going well, you are doing good results, the rumours will always be there, but it’s nothing for me to comment on at this pint”.
Barcelona are eight in the table, six points off behind league leaders and reigning champions Atletico Madrid.
